ABOUT US
Pacific Islands Reservations was formed in 1996 to provide superior vacation rental accommodations to visitors to the Hawaiian islands.  Owned and operated by Ingrid Carvalho, a 5th generation kamaaina* islander, Pacific Islands Reservations has tastefully married traditional Hawaiian hospitality and ambiance with top-of-the-line modern conveniences from the beginning.  Today, Pacific Islands Reservations remains true to its original premise--consistently resisting the temptation to provide volume over quality.

Each and every vacation rental home, beach front estate, holiday villa, bed and breakfast establishment and condo accommodation offered has been carefully scrutinized to make sure it meets Ingrid's exacting standards.  Due to her intimate knowledge of every property represented by Pacific Islands Reservations, the visitor to Hawaii is assured that each accommodation is as represented, ensuring a wonderful vacation experience for all members of the traveling party.

If you are looking to have a vacation experience in Hawaii that exceeds your fondest expectations, Pacific Islands Reservations is a great place to start.

Hawaiian 101
The Hawaiian language consists of 5 vowels (a, e, i, o, u), 7 consonants (h, k, l, m, n, p, v) and 1 glottal stop ('). The consonants are pronounced very much like they are in English. The vowels are pronounced as follows:

a = ah as in "blah."
e = ay as in "hay."
i = ee as in "jeep."
o = oh as in, well as in "oh."
u = ooh as in "ooh-la-la."

And remember, every letter is pronounced. A'a = "ah, ah." Incidentally, a'a means rough, stony and usually refers to the rough and sharp type of lava as opposed to pahoehoe, the smooth type of lava, also found in Hawaii.  Click here for a Wiki Wiki (quick) Hawaiian Language Lesson.

*kamaaina means long time resident of the islands. For purposes of receiving a kamaaina discount, usually refers to having a Hawaii Driver's License.
